Эта песня была написана и выпущена в 1981-м году голландским дуэтом Bolland & Bolland на их пластинке The Domino Theory, целиком посвящённой военной тематике в целом и американским вмешательствам в международные конфликты, описывая их с точки зрения рядового.
Группа Bolland & Bolland была создана в 1971 году в Южной Африке и состояла из братьев Роба Болланда (Rob Bolland, 1955 года рождения) и Ферди Болланда ( Ferdi Bolland, 1956 г.). Первый же сингл группы "Summer of 71" принес им большую популярность.
Позднее братья переехали из Южной Африки в Голландию, потом в Германию, а затем вернулись обратно в Голландию.
В 1981 году группа Bolland & Bolland выпустила альбом "The Domino Theory", написанный на антивоенную тематику. Песня "You're In The Army Now" из этого альбома стала хитом, но только в масштабах Южной Африки, где она попала в десятку хит-парада.
В последующие годы братья Болланд работали с Самантой Фокс, Сьюзи Кватро, Фалько (вплоть до его гибели в автокатастрофе. Кстати, Falco - первый и на данный момент единственный исполнитель, занявший верхнюю строчку в хит-параде США с песней на немецком языке).
На данный момент группа Bolland & Bolland разделилась, то есть Роб Болланд поет отдельно, и Ферди Болланд тоже сам по себе.
